What’s on in March?

Saturday 5th March – Takeover at Harrogate parkrun, Lightwater Valley 10k and Toms Social Pub Crawl
On Saturday 5th March, Striders are once again taking over the local parkrun event in Harrogate. This coincides with the Zero to Hero group ‘gradutating’ from their 8 week course so it will be great to see as many Striders as possible in attendance. In terms of the takeover, the main volunteer roster has now been fully populated but don’t let that stop you coming down to help out – the more the merrier, especially for cheery, encouraging marshals! Please can all those who have volunteered arrive at the Stray for no later then 08:30am for your role briefing.

The Lightwater Valley 10k takes place at 11:30am – which will mean a quick dash from parkrun for a number of Striders! If anyone is planning on attending both events and would like to participate in a car share, please email James Wright via info@knaresborough-striders.org.uk or see him at training on Tuesday night. Entries will be available on the day – registration is from 10:15am until 11:15am.

After a busy morning, its time to chill out in Knaresborugh on the evening. Our Social Rep – Tom Burrell – will be leading us around the drinking establishments of town. Meet at the Crown for 19:00 if you want a bite to eat or 20:00 for drinks.

Saturday 19th March – Run Expo, Manchester
The yearly Run Expo is taking place at Manchester Event City from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th March. The event allows visitors to try out the latest equipment, get expert advice on products and listen to the experiences of world famous runners such as Paula Radcliffe. The event runs in conjunction with the Swim, Triathlon and Bike Expo’s – one ticket covers all 4 events. The club has secured (after some savvy negotiating!) 50% off all tickets for its members – taking the price down to £5. The code is available on request from James Wright – contact via Facebook, Twitter (@KStriders), info@knaresborough-striders.org.uk or see him at a club night.

A number of Striders have already declared an interest in attending on Saturday 19th March and therefore if you would like to get involved in a car share to the event, let James know when asking for the code. More information on the event can be found at www.runexpo.co.uk.
