parkrun in the rain – is there a better way to start the weekend?

A very wet Saturday morning didn’t put off 9 Striders attending a parkrun event.

On the Stray, Gareth Conkleton led home the Striders contingent with a time of 23:06. Following him were Rob Charlesworth (28:18) and, completing her first Harrogate parkrun, Edna Wood (29:33).

Guy Close took 5 seconds of his PB at Fountains Abbey, completing the fast and flat course in 19:23.

The latest ‘first Saturday of the month’ club parkrun visit was to Wetherby. The weather seemed to put a few off, but the club still had 4 representatives present. Nicola Carter secured a course PB and was first lady home with a time of 21:18. Eric Morley recorded 26:11 and following him were Anthony Everitt (27:25) and Tracy Allison (28:00).

Sean Brennan headed over to Dalby Forest for the 3rd running of this new event. He completed the course in 21:27.

A brighter morning on Sunday gave good running conditions for Dawn Richardson and Mark Shelton’s participation in the Wakefield 10k. Dawn smashed her 10k PB, finishing in a time of 57:05, with Mark stopping the clock 37 seconds later in 57:42.
