A real mix of results to report on this week – from the usual parkruns to triathalons!
A bit of a climb whilst having a pit stop
Going back to Wednesday 6th July, James Warburton and James Wright took on over 1000ft of climbing at the Stirton Fell race, finishing in 39:42 and 49:40 respectively. Also taking on a race that night were Martin Brock and Andy Robinson who attended the Pitstop 10k based at Croft race circuit. Martin finished in a PB time of 37:36, with Andy clocking 39:30.
parkrun – the best part of the weekend?
The rain held off for parkrun on Saturday morning, with a large contingent at the Harrogate event. Guy Close (or Mr PB as I like to call him) secured a course PB (!) with a time of 19:00 exactly. Ian Mitchell was chasing him down and finished in 20:54. Nicola Carter was next, taking the first lady placing at the event, in a time of 21:15. Gareth Conkleton clocked 21:27, with parkrun first timer Graham Taylor just behind in 21:39, who in turn just pipped Andy Roberts (21:54) to the finish line. Sima Lowery made her first visit to the Harrogate event and secured a time of 22:17 and was joined by Julian Carr (22:57), Paul Heywood (24:26), Jane Day (29:28), Katie Byrne (34:44) and Emma Hall (36:18).
At Fountains Abbey, Martin Brock made his first visit to the event and took on the newly proposed ‘winter’ course, finishing in 18:43.
Tri a Tri
James Warburton, Andy Robinson and James Wright headed over to Ripon on Saturday afternoon to take part in the Ripon Triathlon as a relay team. ‘Warbs’ started the event off with a 1.5km swim in the racecourse lake before handing over the batton to Andy for a 42km bike. James finished off the event with a 10km run to bring home the team in a total finish time of 02:13:58.

Ice Cream Run
Moving onto the current week, on Wednesday night (13/07), Jason Green headed over to Roundhay Park to take part in the 10K Urban Trail Runner event. Jason completed the undulating course in 50:55. His reward was a free ice cream which he apparently demolished in record time!
