We start this week’s round-up with details of a superb piece of running from Graham Yare over the weekend. He took on the Liverpool to Leeds cancel race which sees runners taking on a massive 130 mile journey. Graham completed this mammoth challenge in just over 36 hours.
Moving onto parkrun, a number of Striders visited the York event on Saturday morning including Tom Calvert, who with his time of 17:36 became the fastest ever Strider at a parkrun event. Nicola Carter secured a PB with a time of 20:51 and she was followed by Julian Carr (21:28), James Wright (21:30) and Derek Calvert (22:42).
At Harrogate, Rob Earl led the Striders contingent, crossing the line in 18:55. Sean Brennan stopped the clock on 21:19 and was joined by Nick Wallen (23:01), Paul Heywood (25:59), a PBing Roy Cooley (26:41), Edna Wood (29:25) and another PBer Anne Cooley (30:36)
Three Striders made the trip to Fountains Abbey with Anthony Everitt (27:17) leading the way. Tracy Allion was just behind (27:39), with David Halladay following just under two minutes later (29:10).
Guy Close was the sole Striders representative at the Wetherby event, taking the number two token in a time of 18:40.
