Zero to Hero 2017 – FAQ’s

Our 2017 Zero to Hero programme starts this Thursday and we are expecting a large turnout!

Last year’s course was hugely successful and our qualified Run Leaders are once more ready to inspire and support newcomers to train them to go from zero to being able to take on a 3 mile run. The course lasts for 8 weeks and will guide people new to running through a step by step programme to build up their fitness and confidence to run for 3 miles or do a 5km parkrun.

We have had a number of questions regarding the course, which are answered below –
Q: I am unable to make the first night (12th January) so can I register on anouther night?
A: Yes absolutly, however please try to register on Tuesday 17th at the latest if possible.

Q: What time should I arrive and what time will I be finished each session?
A: Registration will open at 19:00 at Knaresborough Cricket Club, Aspin Lane. The group will head out from 19:30 and be back at the club for no later than 20:30. From Tuesday 17th January, please arrive at the club at 19:20 for a 19:30 start (if you are registering on the 17th, please come down any time from 19:00).

Q: What should I wear for the course?
A: Participants will need comfortable clothing and training shoes (including for the first night on the 17th January). The activities will be held on tarmaced roads and paths. If you have any reflective gear, headtorches, etc. that will help you be seen in the darkness, we would encourage you to bring this along also.
