Tomorrow (Tuesday 28th May) sees the first of this year’s 1mile time trials: St. Robert’s Rush!
It’s your chance to test yourself over the classic mile course along Abbey Road, starting right outside the steps to St.Robert’s Cave and ending just a hundred yards before the Half Moon pub. For the unaquainted, it’s an undulating and tree-lined tarmac route adjacent to the River Nidd popular with runners, walkers and cyclists. We pass the cave, views of the Lido, the site of the ruined Abbey and the famous wood carvings – although there may not be time to admire the scenery!
The route will be accurately measured and marshalled by our own members, with runners settting off in groups of similar ability.
Entry is free and we hope that as before, as many as possible of our members will take part. All Runners should meet at the Cricket club as close to 7pm as possible to register, with the first group of runners jogging down to the start with a leader at 7.30pm.
If you would prefer to marshal rather than run, we’d be grateful for the help – please let James Wright know.
