We are very excited to announce ‘VC20’ – our first ever ‘Virtual Championship’ – and it starts RIGHT NOW!
With our Ben Campbell Club Championship on hold for the foreseeable future, we have developed a virtual championship to keep you all involved over the next few months! Our new Race Secretary Ruth, ably assisted by Dave, has put together an alternative championship which you can safely contest on your own at times and in places to suit you!
The structure and rules are very similar to our normal Club Championship, but with a few obvious changes to allow us to compete – albeit for fun – under the current restrictions. We have a range of distances and terrain across the events, so there should be something to suit everyone! Each event has a specified distance which you must run, some have a specific type of terrain and one has a specific time of day! Most of the events leave it up to you to plan your route, although a few utilise some familiar routes around the area.
We will be using our usual age-grading adjustments to ensure a ‘level playing field’ and will be awarding an overall winner of the championship, plus 4 categories. As a bonus, one of the events will also serve as a virtual ‘Mob Match’ against our friends at Nidd Valley!
The first event ‘window’ starts right now and is open until the 29th of June. Event 1 is a 10k to be run on a course of your chosing.

Good Luck, Enjoy and Stay Safe!
