Should I be entering races later this year?
The simple answer is that it’s up to you! A number of races are still theoretically in the pipeline and some are now beginning to encourage entries – you may have seen that today from Tholthorpe 10k. However, it currently remains unclear which events will be able to go ahead and if so, in what form.
We’re aware that for events like Tholthorpe, which are listed part of our 2020 championship, members might feel under some pressure to enter and/or be disappointed if they cannot get into a reduced field. For that reason, our Ben Campbell Club Championship remains suspended after the first 3 rounds until further notice. Once the future is clearer, we will announce when and how the championship will resume. One obvious solution would be that the three completed rounds (held during Jan-March) ‘rollover’ into an extended 2020/21 championship, but bear with us on that. Championship page with updates: here
In the meantime, our separate VC20 series continues apace and you can of course consider entering any forthcoming ‘physical’ events, but without feeling any pressure to do so from the club!
With regards to Club meetings, our committee meets again early next week so look out for an update then.
Enjoy your running and stay safe!
