An update from Ruth, our Race & Fixtures Secretary
In response to the recent announcement of the 4-week national lockdown in England, we have made some changes to the last three events of Strider’s 2020 virtual championships. Monday 2nd November is the start of event 10 and we were due to run the winter route around Conyngham hall parkrun. However, as only essential travel is permitted during lockdown, we appreciate that all members may not be able to travel to Knaresborough. The same travel restrictions will also be in force for event 11; the 5k time trial route around Aspin estate. Therefore, the committee has changed both the routes and the dates of the last three events as follows to ensure all members are able to take part in the VC20. Please ensure you adhere to all Government guidelines while completing your runs and stay safe!
2nd to 15th November
(not)parkrun – 5k route of your choice. This should aim to achieve 50% road and 50% off-road like Harrogate or Conyngham Hall parkruns. It does not need to be an official parkrun route; it can be your own lockdown parkrun route.
16th November to 2nd December
Run a 5-mile trail route. Any route is acceptable. A small amount of road/path to get you from home to the trail route is, of course, perfectly acceptable.
3rd December to 20th Dec
Knaresborough Striders’ 5k time trial route (Aspin Estate) – subject to change if lockdown continues.
